There are many parts of this Body:
Each one where God wanted it to be.
This part’s an arm; that part’s a kidney;
You might be a toe; she may be a spleen.
The heart can’t go over to the eyeball
And say, “You were made
As I was supposed to be,”
Because each part’s
There to serve all the others:
Many parts form one Body.
But sometimes I feel like
Maybe God fashioned me to be
The appendix, or the earlobe,
Or the small toe
Or the nipples on a man,
Or the hair on the knee.
But even if that is the case
I’m still part of this Body,
And even if that is what God
Created me to be
That’s alright with me.
If one part feels weaker than the others
Then would you please give me your attention.
These parts are as valuable as all the others
This is God’s original intention.
We’re in this together;
If one part’s ill then so is the whole Body.
We’re in this forever;
If one part’s glad then so are We.
